Edmonton jurors in bizarre filmmaker murder trial to get full day of evidence

EDMONTON - Jurors in Edmonton will hear their first full day of evidence today in the bizarre murder trial of filmmaker Mark Twitchell.

Prosecutors are tendering proof they say shows Twitchell killed to fulfill his movie fantasies and that he aspired to become a serial killer.

The 31-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Johnny Altinger.

Prosecutors say Twitchell posed as a woman on an Internet dating service in 2008, lured Altinger to a southside garage for a date, killed him, cut him up and dumped his body parts in the sewer.
