Almost five months after Aliayah Lunsford was reported missing, PPP Recovery, a non-profit search and rescue team, is joining the search.

"We are not here for an investigation, we are here to locate a missing child. That's what we do. We're a search and rescue," says Hunter Glass, who is in charge of operations and compliance for PPP.

"We're retired law enforcement. We have no intention or any interest in anything other than one, finding that little girl. You can tell me to my face that 'here's where she's at' and I can find her and I don't know who you are so it doesn't matter," says PPP member Joe "The Bloodhound" Nick. He's been involved in looking for more than 250 fugitives and missing persons, he's only not found one.

At the request of Aliayah's extended family members, PPP has set up a local incident command center.

Hi missjocool. In Erin Browne's email, she is looking for "families and close friends of people who have disappeared", so I don't think any of us can submit Aliayah's story.

What a surprise when I read this article! Lena Lunsford showed up at the command center. In my opinion, I think the real reason she showed up was to see if she could determine where the searchers were going to search. I would think she and Ralph Lunsford are real concerned about where the searches will take place! Just my opinion!

Aliayah's extended family members tell us that Lena Lunsford showed up by herself at the Eagle's club early Thursday morning, all on her own will.

Hi Ann. When I first read the headline, I figured she showed up just to make it look like she cared, like she knew the reporters and photographers would be there, had to look like a concerned mother.

Julie, after almost 5 months, it is about time she showed up!

Unbelievable that if Lena was a concerned mother about her child, Aliayah, that she did not show up at other events sponsored by those in the community that care about Aliayah.

Lena could not even bother to show up at the many LE press conferences that have been held since Aliayah went missing. Thankfully, Aliayah's extended family, who cares enough about Aliayah, showed up.

I have been busy.
The forums on Facebook,you know the ones where all the gossip mongers are at? I got tired of sifting through all the Crap.
I feel it lies with her Mother and Ralph.I also feel someone should give them both a dose of Mountain Justice.
They both need locked the hell up.
I know the FBI knows what happened.Why else would they *poof* and vanish.
I say they are waiting for the Pill Headed,White Trash,Breeders to lead them to more evidence.

The girl I was friends with is still dating Lena's Brother.Love is wonderful huh? Living with Him and Mother Dearest from what I have heard.
I am also Friends with Holly and Eric Harris.Known them for years. My question is why would Lena name him,when it came back he was not the Bio Dad....why him? He states repeatedly he has never been with her.So who else could she name? She is a idiot.

I feel rather sickened by the whole issue really.And everyone that Knows Lena that I have talked to says she did it.They know she did but cannot prove it.

Tweak! How good to "see" you! I have missed you.

I wondered what happened to you. I am so glad you dropped by to give us an update.

Of course I don't know the local community news like you do but I think Lena and Ralph know exactly what happened to Aliayah. I just wish they would tell where she can be found.

Do you think they weighted Aliayah, threw her in the river and she is long gone downstream? I wonder when was the last time some one really saw Aliayah besides Lena and Ralph.

There is no doubt in my mind that Lena's early morning escapade and driving around looking for Aliayah was a farce!

Hope you drop by more often!

Mystery of missing W.Va. 3-year-old lingers after 6 months; attorney says mom prays for return

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The mother of a 3-year-old girl who vanished from her West Virginia home six months ago Saturday believes that her daughter is still alive and prays daily for her safe return, her attorney said Friday.

Lena Lunsford doesn't know what happened to daughter Aliayah or where she is, but Mike Woelfel said she refuses to give up hope and continues to cooperate with investigators.

"Lena is convinced that no blood relative of Aliayah knows what has happened to her. Nor was she involved in any way with her disappearance," he told The Associated Press.

Asked whether Lunsford believes a non-blood relative may have been involved, Woelfel said only, "She doesn't know what has happened to Aliayah."

WESTON -
The FBI held a press conference Thursday morning in Lewis County to mark six months since Aliayah Lunsford, 3, went missing.

A small crowd of community members were in attendance. Some said Aliayah's disappearance on September 24 has torn the Lewis County community apart.

"It's taken a really bad toll because everybody has put their lives on hold. Every body is concerned about this baby. When you have a missing baby and you have children or grand children the same age, every body comes together," Patricia Rager said.

In the Press Conference held today, the FBI spokesman repeatedly said, "I'm not going to discuss that." or "I'm not going to discuss the investigation." Not verbatim but something to that effect!

Finally, towards the end, one of the reporters asked, "Well, what are you going to discuss?" FBI guy said that he's already discussed all he's going to discuss.

FBI: Aliayah Lunsford not abducted by intruder
Investigators keep information about missing Lewis County girl close to the chest

By The Associated Press
The Charleston Gazette - Charleston, WV

WESTON, W.Va. -- The FBI has a working theory about what happened to a 3-year-old Lewis County girl who vanished six months ago, and it doesn't involve a break-in.

Supervisory Agent John Hambrick wouldn't say during a news conference Thursday what investigators believe happened to Aliayah Lunsford or whether they think she's still alive. Hambrick also would not name a suspect, predict when an arrest might be made or offer any details about the ongoing investigation.

Not sure if this has been posted or not.

The owner of two paraphernalia shops called “Hot Stuff and Cool Things” and three of his employees were indicted Wednesday on federal drug conspiracy charges for allegedly selling bath salts and synthetic marijuana.

I had heard about kids ingesting bath salts probably about a yr. ago, and didn't it was such a problem. Did a little research tonight and am blown away.

"Two months, which was the low end of the guideline range, would not be sufficient to cause Ms. Lunsford to learn to respect the law. So he felt the high end was more appropriate so he imposed that sentence," Ihlenfeld said.

And rightly so!

Lunsford Gets High End of Sentencing Options
Staff - Elkins
MetroNews - WV

The mother of missing Lewis County three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford was sentenced Tuesday in Elkins to eight months in federal prison.

Lena Lunsford, 29, of Bendale, previously pleaded guilty to federal food stamp fraud. She sold her food stamp card.

U.S. Attorney Bill Ihlenfeld says the eight-month prison term is at the high end of the federal sentencing guidelines. He says U.S. District Judge John Bailey said anything less may not send the right message to Lunsford.

Hi, Piper!

Glad to "see" you! I still have not had a chance to reply to your e-mail. I am very far behind in replying to my e-mails.

I started a reply but have not finished. Hopefully, I will send it to you tonight. Be on the look out! lol
~~~
Maybe if Lena is confined in prison she might confide in some one as to where Aliayah can be found.
It just breaks my heart to know that after all of these months Aliayah is somewhere and more than likely has been exposed to the elements. Tragic like so many of the other children cases!
Hi Ann! Thanks for posting the link to my quote. It popped up on my FB page and I thought your first link was the same article. My bad Embarassed
In my opinion, Lena Lunsford has most likely abused her food stamp card many times in the past. I'm glad she was caught, charged and sentenced. Not just a slap on the wrist. Those benefits are to feed your family, not to feed your own habits. I think she'll be another one to never give up any information. Whether she's protecting herself or someone else, who's to say. She's been imprisoned before, we'll see how 8 months in a federal pen works out for her. I feel the same as you that little Aliayah is no longer with us and was more than likely thrown out like trash.
Sad
I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to your email, so no need to apologize to me. I perfectly understand time restraints! Razz
Aliayah Lunsford: 8 Months Missing
~Snipped~
Investigators say they've looked into between 125 and 150 tips that the public has given them. They also have video evidence from businesses and homes. In the past, they said all of this allowed them to come up with a working theory but they won't elaborate on what they mean. Nor will they say who could be involved in their theory.
Tweak, where are you? Have you forgotten about us?
Have not heard from you in a while. I guess things got quiet in your area since Lena is in prison.
There has been nothing new regarding the investigation of Aliayah's case reported by mainstream media lately.
Hope you are doing well, Tweak.
Scumbag for Welfare fraud!
At least she's in jail for something, and 8 months is better
than nothing.
You never know, maybe she will crack and divulge info
It's been 10 months since anyone has seen 3-year-old Aliayah Lunsford. Aliayah's fourth birthday is Sunday.
FBI Supervisory Senior Agent John Hambrick said they're still working with state police every day, going over leads and tips that are coming into the West Virginia Intelligence Fusion Center.
Hambrick believes the answer is still out in the community and he wants anyone with any information to call the Fusion Center at 304-558-6592.
