A) Bashara isn't one of the cases here.

B) Val is a registered member here, so I guess if she wants her comment reposted, she'll come on and do it herself.

C) If the owners of RC think your comments should go back up, then they will decide.

D) I'm trying to make everyone feel welcome here, but at the same time, have to keep some sanity & follow site guidelines here.

ok val could've just closed the thread, like she did with my brother's threads, as some of it was getting bad in those threads and so she shut them down, and she could've also blocked the people that were posting negative things, as it was her blog, and she did it before, instead leaving all of us in a lurch

ruckrider bball ... seems that Val is also having some personal problems and issues (that she posted in article that later was gone .. you can ask Julie in PM for that article if needed to see it)

Julie,

a) I see... thanks

b) Oh! ... cool then ... Hopefully Val will arrive here some day soon .. and will update people on what happened.

c, d, etc) OK .. NO problem.. i understand

But the links to other forums (to Bashara threads there, in case any forum members here are interested in that case) are not allowed to be posted at the forum here?

(i see i posted them .. but they are gone now also)

Hi, Darkman!

Reality Chatter (RC) is primarily set up for missing/abused and or murdered children and a few adults have been included. RC's primary focus is to bring attention to missing children.

As children (and a few adults) are found (usually murdered), the case is moved from Missing to Unsolved Homicides if the case is unsolved and then to Awaiting Trial, etc. until the case is Closed. We focus on supporting justice for the victims. As you will see on the threads, there are many links to mainstream media articles.

Rumors are not allowed to be posted on the threads hence many Links to mainstream media articles primarily.

Some of the families of the victims post here and read our threads.

There is limited space here and like many sites Reality Chatter can not cover every case.

There are many missing children cases from Texas and other states that I wish could be covered here but the Site Owners/Administrators can not cover every case and I understand. Texas alone has over 1,000 missing person cases!

There might be other sites that are covering the Bashara case. Reality Chatter is not covering the Bashara case.

Sad that Hinky Meter is gone

Post by ExerSarah on Sat May 12, 2012 3:14 am

Hi everyone,

I only knew The Hinkey Meter from the Sierra Lamar case. I stumbled upon THM in the very early days of the Sierra Lamar case and have read it daily ever since. I never posted on THM, shy I guess. I was shocked today to find that it was gone. So sad. I googled "what happened to the hinky meter" and came upon this site. So glad it's here. I will check out this site and perhaps break out of my "lurker" status and post some comments. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and thank you to this site for welcoming THM followers.

So...I guess that leaves out a thread for Rebecca Zahau....wonder if Hinkyites interested in that case will find a forum to post on?

Thanks for the info... Got it!

As to Bashara discussion ... - there are, more or less, 3 decent forums that i know of .. where the case is discussed ...

I provided the links to those forum's Bashara threads on Previous page here, but, i think, Moderator deleted them.

A huge warm welcome to everyone! I "know" so many of you from The Hinky Meter.

I will miss Valhall and The Hinky Meter! Her dedication to determining the facts in various cases was awesome. I will miss the Hinky Library too and the many wonderful folks that posted at THM. However, it appears a lot of you are here now!

I hope all of you will like it at Reality Chatter. We might be on the tame side here but we have families of victims that read here and we make every effort to keep it respectful to the victim and to the families of the victims.

As you may see on the threads, there is an established guideline for posting a Link. Of course, we can not post more than 10% of an article due to copyright laws. The owners of Reality Chatter ensure that copyright laws are not violated on their site.

If you need any help in navigating this site, please leave a question here and someone will help you.

Puzzler, yes! I was just coming here to post the Link for you.

For your info, in the Header, there is a Search box. You can click on it and type: Rebecca Zahau. Her thread would have come up.

It is a quick way to find threads.

As stated on Page 1, the threads are under Sections (depending what stage the case is in):

Just click on Forum in the Header. It will open to a page with Sections such as Missing, Daily News, etc.

Click on the Section title and it will open to all of the threads in that Section.

Once you get the hang of it, you will be zipping all over RC!

Hi, ExerSarah! Welcome to Reality Chatter!

I could not believe that THM was shut down. Up until about 4 Friday afternoon, I thought perhaps someone hacked the site and made it appear it was shut down.

Reality Chatter has been a long time supporter of The Hinky Meter and even had a section where the title and first sentence or so of Valhall's articles would appear on the Homepage here with a Link back to her site to read the article.

There are a lot of very nice people here. Some sites will allow folks to bash one another. It is not allowed here. We are respectful of one another and agree to disagree. To my knowledge, the Site Administrators have never shut down a thread.

I hope you post here. Please do not be shy. This is a friendly site and there are a lot of nice, caring people here. Many are very dedicated child advocates.

Reality Chatter has welcomed The Hinky members to join here and I hope every one feels welcomed and comfortable posting here.

We also have some fun threads here. They are listed in the Forum. Scroll down. We have a Games Section, Arcade, Gardening, Recipes/Cooking, etc. Don't be bashful! Click away in the Forum.

The Arcade and Games sections are among my favorite fun threads. Sometimes a person just needs a break from the tragic cases of child abuse/murder/missing, etc.

Hi, nanaof4!

So glad you decided to join! A warm welcome to Reality Chatter!

I missed part of the trial and was going to go and read Freckles "Live" posting of the testimony. Just as I was going to do that, THM was shut down.

I want you to know that we have a Gabriel Johnson thread here. Any articles pertaining to the case such as Elizabeth Johnson and Tammi & Jack Smith are posted there.

Maybe Freckles will find us and she can continue her "Live" posting. Freckles did an incredible job! She must type 100 wpm! I would do any thing if I could read her postings!

angela, welcome to Reality Chatter! So glad you and former Hinksters have decided to join here.

Val is making the Ventrilo available to the former Hinksters so we can finish watching the Tammi Smith trial. Also, prior to shutting THM down, she indicated if there were other Live Stream events we could use it. She does not know how long she will have it available to us.

The Tammi Smith trial will resume testimony on Monday, 5-14-12, at 10:30 a.m. MST
(12:30 p.m. CDT/ 1:30 p.m. EDT)

I hope to be there on Monday by 12:30 CDT. I think EDRN (chickenbutts), One Wonders, and others will also be there. chickenbutts knows the tech info regarding Ventrilo and was real helpful to some that were not use to using Ventrilo.

This is what is now posted on Ventrilo prior to entering the Chat Room:

The Hinky Meter is no longer a maintained website. This vent server will be left up for a short time and is available to any former Hinky members who would like to use it if certain case events take place in which you want to meet. I am unsure how long I will maintain the vent server.

God bless you all.

Just a reminder:

To do a quick search for a thread, you can click on Search in the Header.

A small box will drop down. Type in the name of the case you are looking for and click.

Example: Ayla Reynolds

It will take you to her title thread and you can click on. Then it will take you to the thread.
~~~~~~~~~~
In the scrolling banner at the top of the Homepage, you can click on any of the pictures and it will take you to that person's thread.
Reality Chatter has posted a few of the many Missing Persons in the banner. For your info, only a "Missing Person" is included in the banner. When they are found (dead or alive), the picture is removed from the Banner.
http://www.realitychatter.com/
Reality Chatter - Homepage
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you would like to check News Updates via Twitter, there is a Twitter box on the Homepage - the left side of the page.

Also, there is a multi-media Twitter box (which I just love) at this Link. It is called Anthony Updates but probably should be called "Multi-Media" updates. During the week, you will find a lot of InSession tweets in that Twitter box.

You will also find Anthony updates on this page. Justice4All has it fixed where it automatically updates. However, if you've had the page in an Open Window, you will have to Refresh for the updates.

http://www.realitychatter.com/?pid=4
Reality Chatter - Anthony

When on the Homepage, scroll down and look on the left side of the page. You can click on Anthony News Portal under LINKS and it will take you to the above Link.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are so many great features here at Reality Chatter (RC), I hope you will check them all out.
It took me a while to learn my way around RC back in 2010 because I never posted on a Forum site.
All of the former Hinksters are familiar with a Forum layout so before you know it, you will be zipping all over the place here!
Please don't let this site overwhelm you. If you can not find something, all you have to do is ask. You are welcomed to leave a comment on a thread or PM Julie, sitemama or me.
Eileen, welcome to Reality Chatter!
I know I will miss Val so very much and I always enjoyed reading her analysis on various cases.
Eileen, there are quite a few of Hinksters that have joined and perhaps you will get to blog with some of your "Hinky" friends here. I know it won't be the same as The Hinky Meter but at least you can be among "Hinky" friends.
We also have a lot of very nice people here at Reality Chatter. Hopefully, we will all blend and be one big happy family!
Eileen, you might want to start on Page 1. There is some useful info that will help you and others navigate this site. Also, you can see which Hinksters have commented on this thread.
We just want every one to feel welcomed here and we will go the extra mile to do what we can to acclimate every one to this site as quickly as possible so every one can enjoy it and not try to figure out where things are!
I remember how overwhelmed I felt when I joined here in 2010. I was at The Hinky and I decided to join here after Julie told me how great this site is.
This has been stated before but here goes again in case you missed it.
Reality Chatter has a Live Chat which is really cool. It is at the bottom of the Forum page. It is open 24/7. There is NO AUDIO.
You can use it any time. I think sitemama stated somewhere here that the Site Administrators do not allow vulgar language, Links to porn sites, etc.
You can have a lot of fun on Live Chat. Just keep it clean and no arguments. Site Administrators will not hesitate to shut it down and it will be shut down for a long time.
Remember every one that is a member can see what you are typing. If you want a private conversation, please PM.
In the upper right corner of the Chat box, click on Log In. You should be good to go.
You can select a color for your text, there are emoticons, and all kinds of bells and whistles. Feel free to click on the icons to see what does what!
I just wish we would have had some kind of forewarning :\
I feel like the kid with the ball didn't feel like playing anymore, packed up, and went home.
Good Morning,
Thank you AnnTx for inviting & introducing us to Reality Chatter.
It is indeed a very sad day to hear THM has closed down. I was one of the resurrected oldies, more of a lurker than a poster.
I hope Val is ok.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed but seeing familiar names and seeing how helpful & kind you all are, are putting me at ease.
Thank you for the warm welcome inlove
KathyNY
I am so glad to see all of you. Valhall and the Hinky was it for me. Years ago when I found Val's blog I never read anywhere else again. I broke down and cried yesterday when I found out the Hinky Meter was gone forever. I am still so sad and forlorn. But it helps to see all of you here!
Hello to all the Hinky Meter refugees, I also am so sorry that we all lost our home THM. I'll greatly miss Val and THM.
I am praying for our friend & leader Valhall.
I was just getting into the ventrilo. Still I am grateful to be able to be at RC with some of the hinkies.
I cannot believe that the Hinky has closed. I'm still stunned!
I haven't posted much during the last few months as I've had far too much on my plate, but I read there almost every day.
Sad What a sad day!!!!!!
Ann, I will certainly invite all my face book Hinky friends over.
Hi, former Hinksters!
It has been confirmed that The Hinky Meter has been shut down by Valhall.
This is a very sad day for the many members of The Hinky Meter. I could cry! Sad Crying or Very sad
Valhall will leave Ventrilo and the Live Chat up for a while for the Hinksters to use. We can meet there to Live Chat during the Tammi Smith trial on Monday and for the duration of the trial.
Several of us Hinksters were on it earlier and were able to Chat since we had downloaded Ventrilo some time ago.
If you are looking for a place to join, you are cordially invited to join Reality Chatter. For your info, I have been a member here since August, 2010 in addition to my membership at The Hinky Meter. It is a great place and I feel safe here.
This site is owned by Justice4All and FystyAngel. They are the Site Administrators and do a great job of monitoring this site.
You do not have to be a member of Reality Chatter to read in the Forum. However, if you want to post a comment, membership is required. Also, once you join, you will see other threads and features that are not available to non-members.
There are a lot of great features here like there were at The Hinky Meter. There is the PM feature which is your private account. If you want to PM, after you join, you will need to post on any thread a time or two and that will activate your PM capability. Your comment can be as simple as, "Hi, I'm new."
You can click on Profile to post your avatar and set your settings, signature if you want one, etc.
There is also a Live Chat at the bottom of the Forum Page available to members. No audio.
The Homepage features updated articles from mainstream media in the center with additional articles to the right. To the left, is a "scrolling roll" which will let you see who posted recently on what thread. You can click on and it will take you to the desired thread.
The Forum is divided into sections. Click on a section and you will be able to view all threads in that section. You can then click on the thread you are interested in. Here is the Link to the Forum:
I, like many of you, will miss Valhall and The Hinky Meter. She is an awesome lady and I am so happy that I was part of her wonderful site. I hope that one day she will decide she wants to have a blog again. I will be among the first to join!
If you join Reality Chatter, you might want to keep your "Hinky Meter" nic so your cyber friends from the Hinky can find you here. There are some Hinky members here.
If you join and need help in navigating this site, please leave a comment here. Some one will help you.
Julie, from the Hinky Meter, is also a member here. She is very knowledgeable about this site. I can also be of help (maybe)!
Looking forward to seeing some (if not all) of The Hinksters here! Hope this info will give you an idea of how to get around at Reality Chatter if you decide to join.
Ann-Tx
Hello Hinkies....sad sad day for members of Val's blog - I don't want to believe it is shut down, but am so pleased to join you here and see "old" friends. Val is a truly remarkable woman, and I've learned so much from her site and all the members who shared so much of themselves while grieving and asking for justice for all of the endangered. Looking forward to contributing here.
We hold you up!!!
